Facts checked Oct 9, 2026 against the sources linked below

The short answer: LifeMD is a publicly traded telehealth company (Nasdaq: LFMD) whose affiliated clinicians prescribe brand-name GLP-1s such as Wegovy and Zepbound. Its weight-management program costs $39 for the first month, then $149 a month, and the medication is billed separately. Reviews: 3.9/5 on Trustpilot (4,273 reviews) and an A from the BBB. It lists no compounded GLP-1s, which are not FDA-approved.

Is LifeMD legit?

  • Company: LifeMD, Inc., listed on Nasdaq as LFMD. Its FAQ says an affiliated 50-state medical group provides the care.
  • Pharmacy: Prescriptions go to your local pharmacy, or are mailed if it lacks stock, per the program page. LifeMD also runs an affiliated pharmacy, opened in August 2024.
  • LegitScript: LifeMD's FAQ says it is LegitScript-certified. We found no seal on its weight-management page, and LegitScript's lookup sits behind a CAPTCHA, so check the current status there.
  • Trustpilot: 3.9/5 from 4,273 reviews: 73% five-star, 15% one-star, across all LifeMD services. LifeMD invites customers to review.
  • BBB: A rating, BBB-accredited, with 849 complaints in three years.

Legit: a public company with an A BBB rating whose weight-loss page lists only brand-name GLP-1s. The catch is the cost structure. The program fee and the medication are separate bills, and that gap drives most complaints.

LifeMD complaints and praise: 65 Trustpilot reviews about weight loss

LifeMD's Trustpilot profile covers several services, so on Oct 10, 2026 we read the 60 reviews its search returns for “weight” (Mar 24 to Sep 30, 2026) plus 5 weight-loss reviews from its 100 most recent: 65 in all, 17 rated 1–2★ and 44 rated 4–5★. LifeMD's overall score that day was 3.9 from 4,273 reviews, across all services.

Caveats: A keyword search favors “weight-loss journey” reviews, and many billing complaints about the $39 first month never say “weight”, so this subset likely reads more positive than the program does: across LifeMD's 100 most recent reviews of all services, 54 were rated 1–2★. Many five-star reviews praise a named rep right after a call, which suggests a review prompt. The bases are small. One reader coded the themes, and a review can carry several, so shares add up to more than 100%. These are reviewers' accounts, not verified facts.

How to cancel LifeMD

  1. Email weightloss@lifemd.com, or in the patient portal go to My account → Billing & Card → Cancel/Pause Subscription.
  2. Cancel before your next billing date. Service runs to the end of the paid term, with no prorated refund.
  3. Keep the written confirmation. Charges after cancelling are a common complaint.

Per LifeMD's terms, prescription medications cannot be returned and unused time on a plan is not refunded. Its money-back offer refunds the program fee, minus visits, insurance checks and labs, only if you lose under 10% after a year and logged your weight weekly.
