Semaglutide starts at 0.25 mg — at some concentrations that’s a draw of just a few units, a couple of millimeters on the syringe. At that scale, reading the wrong concentration off a forum instead of your own label doesn’t produce a small error; it produces a multiple of your dose.
Units measure volume, not medication. If your pharmacy changes concentration between refills — which happens — the same prescribed dose becomes a different units number. Recheck the label every time, and when a draw looks different from last month, stop and ask your pharmacy before injecting.

Draws that small are hard to measure precisely — ask your pharmacy what syringe size fits your prescription.
Ten units is always 0.1 mL — but the milligrams depend on the concentration. From a 2.5 mg/mL vial, 10 units is 0.25 mg; from a 5 mg/mL vial it’s 0.5 mg; from a 10 mg/mL vial it’s a full 1 mg. Same syringe marking, three very different doses — which is why the vial label matters more than the units number.
On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 mL is 100 units — the scale divides every milliliter into 100 units. That’s volume, not medication: how many milligrams those 100 units contain depends entirely on the vial’s mg/mL concentration.
